Sometimes Love Hurts!

I heard a new term on Valentine's Day yesterday,
and my heart leaped with joy!!
AT LAST, we have recognition that Valentine's Day can be
a difficult one for those who find themselves alone, or single and
without a love interest, or maybe hurting from a recent break up.
YES, many do have families, but STILL,
Valentine's Day seems to magnify the "alone-ness" all the more
as couple's are seen holding hands, kissing, exchanging gifts, etc.,
and the result of this often brings on depression.

So, I say Hallelujah for S.A.D. and decided to offer
a tribute to the day with my post and my card!!  :)

This sweet little image comes from Mo Manning at

One of the reasons I think I was drawn to this precious image

is because I am an RN (though now retired),
so always looking for cute "Nursey" images.

Standing UP for Artist's rights!!

Do you love Saturated Canary images?

Then make sure you buy the real deal!!

Someone loves Krista Smith's images so much
that she has been attempting to COPY
...and sell them!!

The purpose of my post tonight,
is to educate you so you'll know better.

Buying the real deal supports the artist.

Buying copies only supports a thief and further copyright theft.

Explanation:

There is a so called "artist" who has been flat out, no shame, copying and selling images so similar to Krista's (even using the same names) that it's very apparent that they are a copy!
(and not always a good copy)

It would be so sad to see Krista shying away from this
because of just one person's lack of shame!

Please make sure, when you buy, that you always buy from Krista!

It's time for those who disrespect copyright laws
to receive ZERO TOLERANCE!!

Thank you!

Winterland Album

Hello and Happy New Year!!

I'm bring you something new, my first-ever chipboard album.  I made this one at a class I took in December, then went home and made two others for Christmas gifts.  I loved it so much I had to keep my first one!!  LOL  This is the front cover.  The back cover wraps around the front cover and has that "Winterland" tag attached to it.  It closes with magnets.  I am being lazy by not taking new photos of what I did to it (by way of adding tags) after I brought it home.  You'll be able to see most of the pockets, but not the tags.  Sowwwy!!
This shot shows the inside of the front cover and the first page.  You can also see the flap of the back cover there on the right.  The paper is so beautiful and glittery, but I'm afraid it won't show up online.  Maybe you can see a bit of it on the front cover??  The blue is glitter and came that way.  I did not need to add any.

This photo shows the backside of the 1st page and the 2nd page, which is a pocket.

Here's the backside of page 2 and the front of page 3.  Isn't the paper YUMMY??  SO wintry!!

This is the back of page 3 and front of page 4, another pocket.

Now you're looking at the back of page 4 and the front of the back cover.

And, finally, the back cover.  I'm going to be sorry, tomorrow,
that I didn't take new photos, I know I am!!  LOL  However,
this lets you see this gorgeous paper before I covered some of it up.  :)  Maybe, my next post will be of the completed album.  You just never know!!

The wonderful papers are BoBunny Snowfall.  It's very difficult to get now, as it sold out very quickly!!  I know, I tried!!  LOL

I used Ranger Faded Jeans ink to distress all edges.
Assorted ribbons were used to embellish the 3 rings I used to bind this album.

Thank you for coming by and checking out my blog.  I've been very busy since Christmas, so I've neglected my blog.  I will try to snap to, and get back to posting.

I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas, so you'll be seeing some new, wonderful things in the coming weeks.... :D  I'm so excited!!

~With love at Christmas~

Christmas is quickly coming, and I've been so busy making cards and gifts, that I've neglected my blog.  I thought I'd best fix that and post a photo today.  Sowwwwy about that!!

This darling "Winter Fairy" and her sweet little birdie friend are from Wee Stamps and one of  Sylvia Zet's adorable digi stamps.  It was love at first site for me, and I made many, many of these cards, while at a Scrappy Chicks Retreat in October, to send to friends for Christmas.  She brings a smile to my face every time I lay eyes on her!  I colored the image with my Copics.

Let's see if I can give you the Card Recipe! ;)

Card size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Paper and sentiment:  That lovely red and white snowflake paper is digital paper I found at
Paper Craft Inspirations.  They have tons of downloads to share, including the sentiment on the face of the card.

Embellies:  Green and white half pearls, Jolee's Boutique dimensional stickers (glitzy snowflakes). Stickles, plaid ribbon from "Holiday Inspirations."

Tools used:  Tonic Studios "Royal Fleurs 2 in 1 corner punch.  I didn't need a die for the shape around the image, as I had one in digital format, so simply placed my digital image in the center of the shape, then printed and cut it out.  So easy!!

Remembering which Copics I used may be a bit more difficult, but let me try.  :)
Face:  E00, E000, E21

Cheeks:  R20
Hair:  E39, E99, E18, YR23
Outfit and Boots:  G20, G21, G24
Wings and Wand:  V000, Y00, BV000, BG10, and G20
Bird, Flowers, and Berries:  R29, R35
Leaves:  G28, G29
Shadowing:  C0, C00

Thanks for stopping by to see my card.  I hope you and your family has a Blessed Christmas!!

A Funny Little Christmas Card..

I'm sharing a simple card I made last year.  I've never shared it here on my blog, so I didn't think you'd mind that it was an older card.  ;)  This funny little "Granny" image makes me giggle every time I see her.  I'm not even sure where I got her or who drew her, so if you know, please share the info with me, will you?  I colored her with Copics (I only had a very few then) and Marvy markers, colored pencils, and chalks.

 Card Recipe:

It's a 6" x 6" card
Image:  ?????
Papers used:  Basic Grey Jovial paper pad and white card.
Embellies:  Off-white half pearls and dark red 1/4" ribbon.
Tools:  Fiskars Threading water edge punch and Big Shot with a Cuttlebug "Swiss Dot" folder.

Thanks for taking a peak!  I hope you enjoyed your visit.
