Romancing the Sea Vintage Journal

I have another handmade vintage journal to share with you today.

As you can see by the post title, it's called
"Romancing the  Sea."
This journal is made from upcycled chipboard
and is covered with denim.

I machine-stitched around the entire journal
edge after it was made.

Shabby Rose Mini Journal

Hi there~

I'm back to share a Mini Journal with you.  It's the first I've made and I think it's so pretty!  It's a lot different than the vintage journals I usually do because this one is a soft-sided, lace embellished mini.

*please click on images to enlarge them*

Front Cover
As you can see, it has multiple types and colors of lace draping from the cover.
I used white, cream and ecru colored lace and finished off with some
beautiful soft turquoise lace that is encrusted with pearls and sequins.

The shabby flower on the cover is made using various laces,
tulle, cheese cloth, and a rose bud.

Sail Away Vintage Journal

Hello there,

I have a new Vintage Journal to share with you!  I love living close to the ocean, so I was inspired to make a journal that reflects the sea.

*click the photos for a larger view*

Front cover
This journal is 7 3/4" x 5 3/8" with a 2" spine. It has 2 handsewn signatures (sewn with a 3-hole pamphlet stitch), holds 84 pages, counting fronts and backs, and has lots of space for journaling.  Many of the pages are coffee or tea stained and oven baked. It has charms attached to the spine on a removable chain.

It contains tags (many with charms), ephemera, bags, pockets, envelopes, tuck spots, corner flaps, 2 paper clips, and some Prima Seashore metal clips and more! It closes with a Tim Holtz hitch post and a black stretchy clip.

The cover is reinforced with "Tyvek" for added strength and is made from a food box which was cut to the size needed.

Inside front cover and first page
An inside page with pockets

 Chunky with lots of pages!

Victorian Women Journal

Hello there,

I have another journal to share with you but I'm going to have to share it with you in the form of a video instead of photos, as I usually do.  I forgot to take photos before I mailed it off but managed to grab a screen shot from the video, so will share that here:

I hope you will take the time to watch the video~

Since I'm so new at making vids, I hope you will be patient with me while I learn!  lol
Most everything is explained in the video, so let's roll it...

I'm really enjoying making journals and hope that I inspire others to make them as well.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!
