Vintage Lady

Hi!  I'm showing you a different type of folded card that I discovered here at "A perfect waste of time."
I was immediately attracted to its vintage look, so I knew I had to try it.
I used the digital image above (I haven't a clue where I got it!), as I couldn't find a digi to color with my Copics that I liked better than this one.  :)

To open the card, just untie the bow, and the card opens to reveal a hidden corner pocket
that has an affixed tag on which to write your sentiment.
It also has a distressed tag with a bow tied onto it in the pocket.
Card Recipe:

Size: 5 1/4" square.

Image:  unknown.

Stamps:  Kaiser Flouishes.

Patterned Papers:  My Mind's Eye, 29th Street Market:  Peaceful "Treasure" and Prima Botanical Garden:  "Sweet Heart."

Distressing:  Ranger Ink:  Linen and Milled Lavender.

Embellishments:    White half pearls colored with Copics V15, Bo Bunny dimensional stickers:  Butterfly, Sheer and silk ribbon, Flowers, Leaves, and Fern.  Stickles.

Tools:  MS around the corner punch:  Eyelet Lace.  Fiskars Edge punch and embosser:  Elegant Fountain.  Punch bunch: Fern.  Fiskars corner punch:  Lace.  EK Success flowers and leaf punch (borrowed from a friend and I forgot to write down it's name.)

Thank you for stopping by to take a peak at my card!  Have a blessed day.

A napkin and some plastic wrap...

I know, I'm always doing something a bit different, and this card is no exception!  LOL  I found a video on YouTube in which a woman was making cards using an iron to adhere the face of a "fancy" napkin to card stock with Cling wrap.  I loved the idea, but had never tried it myself.  I shared this on a couple of forums that I visit, and the next thing I knew I got a surprise shipment from Australia (thank you Sandie!!) in which I found some stunning napkins.  So, here's my first attempt.  I used both black and red card for the background and card itself.  On the face of the card above is the napkin.  It's off white, gray, and black with a bit of red up at the center top.  I added half pearls (white ones colored with my Copics to match the red card stock .. Thanks for the tip Heather!)  I added the bling flourish, a ribbon, and sentiment which comes from Paulette from Create with TLC. It was easy!  I like the texture that the napkin adds to the card.  Here's the video:

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look!  I hope you learned something new that you can try.
Big Hugs,

Roses, Roses, Roses

I'm so pleased that you stopped by today!!  I'm sharing another Napkin Fold Card, as they are so much fun to make, and so rewarding as well.  This one is much more "girly" than my first one, isn't it?  :)  I absolutely love roses and "girly," so I had to make another card and incorporate them both!  I added half pearls to the corners of the card itself and the tag on the "belly band" closure.

This is what you see once you untie the ribbon closure.  As you can see, 3 coordinating papers are used to make this lovely card.  The edges of the base card stock are edged with a MS eyelet round the corner punch.

This photo shows the card after it's fully opened.  The inside has plenty of room to write sentiment and is embellished with a layered blue bird and a flower with leaves.  The flower has tiny blush half pearl in its center.  I would love to have used a rose, but it would have been too  tall and the card wouldn't close.  The printing underneath the blue bird says:  "Journal Des Roses."

Here's a photo of the back of the fully opened card.

The papers I used were Gypsy Chick's Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Flower Blooms and Botanical Gardens and Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime Collection Fairy Folk.  All of these are gorgeous vintage papers.  Did I say I also love vintage??  LOL

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and will return often!
